About This Episode
This week, we meet up with Caleb Avery, founder of Tilled which is a US based PayFac-as-a-Service provider. The company enables its customers to enjoy all the benefits of a fully registered payment facilitator program without the upfront cost, hassle, or liability. This model allows companies like software vendors, marketplaces, and SaaS providers to generate new revenue from accepting credit cards. In our conversation, we cover Caleb’s start up journey and discuss the state of the payment market and the increasing growth of the Payfac model and how it differs in the US and Europe.

Guest Bio
Caleb Avery is a highly accomplished consultant and entrepreneur in the payments space who is revolutionising the landscape with PayFac-as-a-Service. In 2019, he founded Tilled after spending nearly a decade advising merchants and enterprise software businesses on how to optimise their payment processing solutions. Caleb’s transparent approach to payments, which focuses on the belief that ISVs should enjoy the lion’s share of the revenue, laid the foundation for Tilled, an embedded payment solution that doesn’t require ISVs to compromise on technology, user experience, or economics. Prior to founding Tilled, Caleb also co-founded a credit card processing ISO while in college, which has expanded nationwide to offer processing services for merchants and software businesses.
