The Challenge
A leading payment scheme aimed to strategically position its money movement product proposition in Europe amidst a rapidly evolving payments landscape. The client needed to gain a deeper understanding of how they fit within this landscape, especially in comparison to competing alternatives. They sought to explore consumer and small business behaviours, examining the methods used for different payment use cases and assessing perceptions of the client as a viable option. Additionally, there was a need to gauge the appetite and readiness of large merchants for adopting the client’s solutions, particularly in the context of funds disbursement. The research needed to focus on seven priority markets across Europe, involving over 3,500 consumers, 1,800 small businesses, and 11 large merchants.
