When it comes to the possibilities of ‘learning from history’ there are doubtless many examples we could aspire to learn from and some we should try not to repeat.  In 2018, as part of the 40th anniversary celebrations, current leaders at Edgar, Dunn & Company (EDC) will be conducting a series of interviews with past EDC leaders.  The aim of these interviews will be to capture some of the learnings from the past 40 years of working in the payments industry.  Each interview will be with our previous leaders and it will bring together fresh perspectives from the original EDC founders, Jim Edgar, Peter Dunn and Todd Conover. It will also include EDC’s leaders who followed them.

From the ‘learning from history’ interviews with the past leaders we will build an appreciation of the history of the payments industry and the role that Edgar, Dunn & Company has played within it. ‘Those that fail to learn from history, are doomed to repeat it’ is so true and the link to the past may not be as apparent or as relevant, but a leader’s ability to at least recognize the value of history should enable them to make more informed decisions and to potentially avoid the mistakes of others.
